Bronx Zoo/Botanical Gardens

The New York Botanical Garden is a museum of plants and a National Historic Landmark with 250 acres. This includes 47 gardens and plant collections, a 40-acre Forest that is typical of what once covered all of New York City and the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.

From Manhattan, go to Grand Central Station, take the Metro-North Harlem Local Line to the Botanical Garden Station.

The Bronx Zoo is home to more than 6,000 animals, including some of the world's most endangered species. With 265 wooded acres devoted to spacious naturalistic habitats, it is the largest metropolitan wildlife conservation park in the United States. From Manhattan, take the Triborough Bridge to Bruckner Expwy east to Bronx River Pkwy north. Or, west Side Highway to Cross Bronx Expwy east to Bronx River Pkwy north. The Bronx Zoo is located just off exit 6 of the Bronx River Parkway.
