Altitudes of over 10,000 feet result in the Visitor Center being opened from early June to mid-October. Other times during the year, information is available at the Kolob Canyons Visitor Center in Zion National Park, 43 miles southwest of Cedar Breaks just off U.S. 15. The altitude closes the local routes into the park during the winter months. Cedar City, 23 miles away, is the largest nearby city with full services and facilities.
Activities include hiking and sightseeing. Skiing is nearby at Brian Head. For more information, contact Cedar Breaks National Monument, 2390 West Highway 56, Suite #11, Cedar City, UT 84720-4151 or call 801-586-9451 for more information.
