Return to the previous picture in slideshow. Looking west down the Chicago River; Michigan Avenue Bridge, built 1920, is the base of the Mag Mile. At the southern end is the former Fort Sheridan, built in 1803 (one of Chicago's first settlements), named after the U.S. Secretary of War Henry Dearborn (one of the chief military advisors to the West). The Tribune Tower is on the right, home to one of Chicago's two daily papers, and owners of the Chicago Cubs. Proceed to the next picture in slideshow.
