Mt. Diablo State Park

Welcome to the 2nd page of pictures from Mt. Diablo Park Park. All of the pictures on this page are from various hikes throughout the park. Most are from the Falls Trail, hiked in the spring (April) of 2005. The waterfalls are still flowing this time of year, wildflowers are out and the hills are very green. Some are from the nearby Mitchell canyon. The last picture is from a hike that originates out of Macedo Ranch. The Falls Trail is most easily approached from the east, parking at the end of Regency Drive. At the end of the Drive walk to the left onto Donner Canyon Road. Travel 1.5 miles, and go left onto the Cardinet Oaks Road. Travel 0.5 miles, then turn right onto the Falls Trail. Travel 1.2 miles, passing many waterfalls. Pick up the Middle Trail, and travel 0.5 miles. Make a right onto Meridian Ridge Road and travel 0.1 miles. Make a left back onto the Donner Canyon Road, travelling 1.5 miles back to the parking area. The total hike is about 5 miles, and you ascend 1200'.

Two pictures are from the Mitchell Canyon -Deer Flat-Back Creek Loop hike. This is picked up at the Mitchell Canyon visitor center, on the east side of the park. This is a flat 4 mile round trip hike.

The last hike is from the Wall Pt. Road. This is a 6 mi loop hike, ascending 1200', originating from from Macedo Ranch. The Ranch is approached from the western portion of the park.
