It occupies 1,350 acres at an elevation of 5,800'. Featuring mineralized wood and dinosaur bones, there are short loop trails of about 1 mile with an elevation gain of 240' through these areas.

Activities include camping, swimming, hiking and sightseeing. Facilities are limited in the park but the nearby town of Escalante offers some facilities. For further information, contact Escalante State Park, 710 North Reservoir Road, Escalante, Utah 84726-0350 or call (435) 826-4466
