Versailles

Welcome to the Versailles page of pictures from the World from the Web Home page. Located in the northern portion of France, this city is 15 miles SW of Paris and features the Versailles Palace. The palace was built throughout the 1600s and served the French monarchs. Many famous historical events have occurred at the palace including the start of the French Revolution and the signing of the Versailles Treaty to end WWI. As these pictures hope to illustrate, some of the world's finest architecture (building and landscape) are found at this palace. The city itself is a suburb of Paris and has about 100,000 people.

All pictures on this page are from the Versailles Palace, using various film and digital cameras. This was a short ride from the Paris Metro and then a short walk from the train station to the palace.
