Golden Gate Park

Welcome to the Golden Gate Park Website of pictures within the World from the Web Home page. Located in the heart of San Francisco, California, this city park is west of the Haight section. The park is 1,017 acres and is surrounded by the following streets: Fulton to the north, Stanyan to the east, Lincoln to the south and Great Highway (Pacific Ocean) to the west.

A diverse and beautiful park, it has two large museums, a Japanese Tea Garden, conservatory, botanical and other gardens, lakes, islands, buffalo paddock, windmill, Chinese Pavillion and numerous ballfields.

Activities include boating, biking, rollerblading, hiking, sightseeing and cultural events.

Waterfall at Stow Lake near the Chinese Pavilion. Stow Lake is in the middle of the park, just south of John F. Kennedy Drive. The water falls is on the eastern side of the island within Stow Lake.
