The park is 75,398 acres of land and water and contains approximately 28 miles of coastline within its boundaries. Elevations range from sea level to the tops of large, steep hills in the Marin Highlands. The park is nearly two and one-half times the size of San Francisco. Comprised of many locations, they include Alcatraz, Marin Headlands, Fort Funston, Fort Mason, Muir Woods National Monument, Fort Point National Historic Site and the Presidio of San Francisco.
