Harriman State Park

Welcome to the Harriman State Park Website of pictures within the World from the Web Home page. Located in southern New York, the park is 30 miles north of New York City on the west side of the Hudson River in both Rockland and Orange counties. The best routes there are either I-87 or the Palisades Parkway. From NYC, take I-87(N) to Rt 17 into Sloatsburg. Follow the signs into the park. An alternative route is the Palisades Parkway north, follow the signs into the park (exits 14 or 15).

The park is just south of Bear Mountain State Park and is the second largest park in the New York State Park System at 46,647 acres. There are numerous small towns such as Sloatsburg that offer facilities and resources. Activities include camping, fishing, swimming, biking, hiking and sightseeing.
