Located in the Halls Valley, this is suspended between two ridges of the Diablo Range of the Coastal Mountains. The park has excellent views of the San Jose metro area. The park is 9,553 acres with elevations ranging upto 2,000'. Resources and facilities are limited in the park but are numerous throughout the area. Temperatures during the summer can become quite hot.

Mt. Hamilton from the Scenic Overlook, at 2457". This is a 4.5 mile roundtrip from the Woodland Youth Camp. Take the Service Road to Dairy Trail and make a right. Quickly make a left onto the Dutch Flat Trail and continue to the Scenic Overlook. Total ascension is 600-800'.
