Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Welcome to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Website of pictures within the World from the Web Home page. Located in southern Nevada and Northwestern Arizona, this park is located just to the southeast of Las Vegas. From Las Vegas take I-15S to I-215E to I-515S. This will turn into Rt 93S. Follow the signs to the Hoover Dam. This is about a 30 mile trip.

The park occupies 1.5 million acres and includes two manmade lakes, Lakes Mead and Mojave. Activities in the park include camping, boating, swimming, hiking, and sightseeing. During the summer months the temperature can easily exceed 100F. Many portions of this National Recreation Area are isolated and contain limited facilities.
