Lake Minnewaska State Park Preserve

Welcome to the Minnewaska State Park Preserve Website of pictures within the World from the Web Home page. Located in southern New York, the park is 90 miles northwest of New York City and near the town of New Paltz. New Paltz has full facilities and services. Take I-87N to Rt. 299W (exit 18) and travel 5.9 miles past downtown New Paltz. At the junction with Rt 44/55, make a right. The park entrance is about 4 miles up a winding mountain road on the left.

The park is 10,600 acres and reaches elevations of over 2000'. The park highlights Lake Minnewaska and Lake Awosting.
