This park features great views of nearby 14,000+ foot Mt. Shasta and the Castle Crags. The park is 4,350 acres in size. The altitude ranges upto 6,000', and is named for the glacial polished crags. It is part of the larger Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The Pacific Crest Trail also passes through the park. Despite mountainous conditions, the temperature in the summer can reach 100F.
Activities include sightseeing, hiking, biking, blackberry picking in late summer and excellent trout fishing in the Sacramento River. Resources and facilities are limited in the Park.
