Toiyabe National Forest

Welcome to the Toiyabe National Forest Website of pictures within the World from the Web Home page. Located throughout much of the state of Nevada, this National Forest is within the Intermountain Region of the National Forest System (NFS). It is the largest National Forest outside of Alaska with a net acreage of approximately 4,000,000 acres. The pictures here are all from the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area, located just to the west of Las Vegas. At 316,000 acres, this area ranges in elevation from 2,600' to 11,918', making this the perfect summer escape of high temperatures and a winter wonderland of snow and skiing in the middle of the low desert.

Mt. Charleston is located just 35 miles northwest of Las Vegas, and is the highest point in southern Nevada at 11,918'. From Las Vegas take I-15N to Rt95N. Pick up Rt157W and take it to the road ends. This is the Mt. Charlerston lodge. The town of Summerville at Mt. Charleston includes a lodge, limited overnight and other facilities.
