West Point

Welcome to the West Point Website of pictures within the World from the Web Home page. Located in southern New York state, the campus is ~50 miles north of New York City off of Route 9W. From the New York City area, cross the George Washington Bridge (I-95S) and immediately pick up the Palisades Interstate Parkway heading north. When the PIP ends, (Bear Mountain traffic circle), pick up signs for Route 9W north (3d exit off traffic circle). Take the first "West Point, Highland Falls" exit. It is on the west side of the Hudson River in Orange County and is located just north of Bear Mountain State Park.

West Point is the military academy for the US Army. The academys long grey line of graduates has included Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, George S. Patton, Omar Bradley, Douglas MacArthur, Dwight Eisenhower and Norman Schwarzkopf. Their motto is "the history we teach is made by the people we taught". Activities include hiking, sightseeing, attending concerts and museums. For more information call 845-938-2638.
